Natural Medicine for Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer, and it occurs when normal cells grow and form uncontrollably. The cells eventually multiply enough to form a mass called a tumor. Malignant cancer cells will attach themselves to cells in other parts of the body, and invade the surrounding tissues. Some possible causes of skin cancer include sun overexposure, contact with certain chemicals, and x-ray exposure. People with fair skin or genetic disorders such as albinism are among those who are at greatest risk for skin cancer.

Clinical Trials, Studies and Publications:

There are three most common types of skin cancer. Melanoma is a type that begins in the pigment cells of the skin, Basal cell skin cancer and is the most common type in people who have fair skin, and the face is the most likely place to develop this type of skin cancer. Squamous skin cancer affects people with darker skin and begins in the squamous cells.

Usually the first sign/symptom of melanoma is the change in appearance of a mole, and this could include its size, shape, color, and border. The development of new, painful moles is another symptom. In basal cell carcinoma, a well-defined bump that is shiny and red may begin to get sore and scabby. A squamous cell carcinoma mole may become ulcerous, and it may bleed and be extremely tender.

There are many treatment options for skin cancer, and most of them have serious side effects and some require cutting the cancer out of the skin that will result in a scar. Medical marijuana is a safe, effective, natural addition to pharmaceutical medications because there are virtually no side effects as compared to prescription drugs. The drugs’ side effects could include dizziness, constipation, and hives. On the other hand, medical marijuana is a natural cancer medicine because it treats at the cellular level not requiring any cutting or radiation treatment.

Marijuana has shown to stimulates the appetite, increases blood flow, and alleviate the ill effects of chemotherapy. The cannabinoids in medical marijuana also appear to have some anti-tumor properties that essentially can help shrink tumors.

People should not simply abandon traditional remedies such as surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, rather use cannabis in concert with those treatments.

There is no known case of a lethal overdose of marijuana, and the safety of the medicine continues to be an advantage to patients suffering from cancer.
